My friend works for a large Design Consultancy in London and I am often amazed at the hours she works. She often begins work at seven thirty in the morning and does not get home until ten in the evening. I told her that I could not understand how she could manage with so little time to herself. However, she told me that every Design Consultancy in the capital is the same and it really is just the nature of the job. It is for this reason that she is thinking of leaving London and finding a job with a Design Consultancy in a smaller place where the pace of the job is not so difficult. I must say I really don`t blame her. I could not stand that working environment for one week let alone for three years which is the time she has spent working there. As she explained to me when we last met to talk, there is little point in her living in London when she has no time to take avail of any of the things it has to offer. The only free time she has is at the weekend and she says that she is often so exhausted that all she wants to do is sleep. I think she has made the right decision to move and feel she will have a much better quality of life.
